favorite Anna Maria Island restaurants is Blue Marlin. Located on Bridge Street right in the thick of it around Bradenton Beach, Blue Marlin features some of the best food I have had on the island in the last few years. Primarily a seafood restaurant, it also has quality non-fish dishes.
The smoked fish dip, garlic shrimp and scallop appetizers are all worth getting before your entree. For the main course, the grouper is always a star. There is a daily specials menu, which I recommend checking out. I recently had a potato crusted red snapper with a beurre blanc that I had to get three cups of it was so good.
Outside the specials, the Cortez Boil is great, but a lot of food. The grouper Fulford is top notch. The drink selection is good as well. If they have Duke’s brown ale, I highly recommend it.
I would be sure to make reservations as the place fills quickly. There aren’t a huge number of seats. They have a cool outside alley that features live music and a separate outside bar.
A number of Anna Maria Island restaurants feature local seafood, but for my money Blue Marlin tops the list.
